Friday Fill-Ins#94

1. It's time to relax after a long, tiring week.

 2. Bring in the pizza ... and don't forget the ice cold coke!

3. I'm trying to move on and live a full life.

4. "I survived!", that was the last funny comment I received.

5. Please send me the real one not the one who'll just make promises.

6. Better brace yourself cause I'm in it for the long haul.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to just watching Australian Open on TV, tomorrow my plans include paying my bills and Sunday, I want to play tennis (please, please...let there be a good weather) and visit my father in the cemetery!

There Will Be Love On Valentine's Day

There may be more percentage of marital separations nowadays but marriage for most Filipinos is still important. With the growing cost of everything, couples who want to get married could not just oo it right away. Thus, it is such a big relief to know that somebody took the initiative to hold a mass wedding for free.

Pag-IBIG shall hold a mass wedding event for members belonging to various groups on February 14 2012. The event shall also include couples who wish to renew their vows and have been married for at least 25 years. For those who are interested, go to the nearest Pag-IBIG Fund branch to get listed. The couples would need to secure their own marriage license to get included in the final list.

We Should Have Them Earlier

This year is promising to be quite a busy one judging by how hectic the past few days were. Just for this month, several activities have already been lined up not only for our division but for the entire company. It was announced last year that our penalty condonation program for our delinquent borrowers shall take effect for six months starting January 1, 2012. With the announcement, we expected to get our custom tarps from the Head Office before the year 2011 ended. They should help in our information dissemination campaign but it is already almost mid-January and we have yet to receive them.

Through the years, we have always used tarps in our information campaign but budget constraints limited our use for them last year. However, this ongoing  big project really needs some massive information blitz and so, we really need those tarps.

We have been thinking of ordering our own custom made tarps locally but the budget for the said items would need approval from the Head Office. So, the option is to wait a little further for the ones that would came from the Head Office and just generate the information letter to inform our delinquent borrowers to avail of the penalty condonation program.

1. Discussions are useless if things stay muddled and actions never undertaken.

2. It is hard to say goodbye but goodbyes are necessary when things are not the same as it was and it is time to move on.

3. I think it's time to not take things for granted and not to just take things as they flow. There are times that it is better to be an action-getter than to be just a mere fence-sitter.

4. Our playful cat always puts a smile on my face.

5. Maybe sometime will give us time to think what is better for us and to know what action should be done.

6. Praying gives me strength.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to having a body massage, tomorrow my plans include doing the grocery and maybe watch a movie and Sunday, I want to play tennis and distribute the late Christmas gifts!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I wanted to do some posts here last month but being too busy and the slow connection prevented that plan. Nevertheless, I am greeting everybody a happy and healthy, prosperous New Year!

I'm not much of a new year's resolution maker but I promise myself to do better this 2012 than what I had done last year. Meantime, I'll try to post more here and I do hope, my dear readers, that you won't get tired coming in here.

Thank you very much!

Finally

After days of attempting to get in this blog, I got successful at last. The slow connection did it and it was frustrating because it took days to finally get in here when I wanted to update and post some Christmas photos. Hopefully, the connection will be more stable now.

In the meantime, I am sure a lot of us are busy not only with the New Year's Day preparations but also with the after Christmas sales. On my side, I'm just busy with work and am still gift wrapping tehehehe! I'll be done this week. Meantime, I should go off and prepare to get to work. Cya all in a little while.

December Sickness

I call it December sickness, a sickness that mostly hit a lot of employees during the month of December. For years, I have seen co-employees come in late at work. If they have been late from January to November, they would become later in the month of December and the frequencies increase during this month.

In the month of December, work assignments were mostly left unfinished or work pace frequently become slower than usual. There are more loafing and playing around, sometimes they become too loud it is almost embarrassing to see and hear grown up people acting childish. Some people blame it on the cold weather, people being worn out due to practises for the Christmas party group presentation, or the general slow pace of the business but I blame it on just mere complacency.

In most businesses, the last quarter of the year is crunch time for targets yet to be hit, for goals yet to be accomplished. December is commonly the last ditch. However, instead of crunch time during December, some employees slow down and would just prefer to while away the paid time spent in the office doing nothing. Forget about running after the targets in one last try, they would rather wait for the gifts that come in this time of year.

Employees with this sickness should reconsider changing this sickness. The bosses are still monitoring, the accomplishments are still getting evaluated and ratings are yet to be given. For companies that base their performance bonuses on the accomplishments of their employees, employees with the December sickness have the disadvantage. Forget the accomplishments of the past months, slowing down during December might end up with an unsatisfactory rating. Unsatisfactory rating means the bonus might not come or if it does, it will be lower than what one wants. For contractuals, the unsatisfactory rating might be the end of one’s career in that office.

So, for those who have the December sickness, better get cured. Soon.

1. As I neared the edge of my patience, I realized that I have the power to get out of this sticky situation if I want to.

2. The Apothecary’s Daughter by Patricia Schonstein is what I'm reading right now. It's really a good book. A must-read!

3. I didn't start out this way, foolish and just going with the flow.

4. How come Mo Twister suddenly wanted to tell the truth about him and Rhian Ramos?

5. The best way to know if someone really loves you is if he plans his future with you in it.

 6. This is the reason I am giving it all up!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching the movie, Immortals, tomorrow my plans include mailing the Christmas cards and Sunday, I want to clean out my messy room!

Mellow Yellow#91 Lamdag Parada

Photobucket
Davao City's Pasko Fiesta officially starts today and there are so many activities lined up for the said event. Pasko Fiesta just started last year to encourage more tourists to come not only during our festivals which were usually held during the months of March and August but also during December. One of the Pasko Fiesta activities that I have been looking forward to is the Lamdag Parada.

Lamdag Parada is the city’s version of the world-famous Electric Light Parade and will again feature holiday lights on elaborate floats. Escorts of the competing floats shall be required to wear Christmas-themed costumes.

For more details of the Pasko Fiesta activities, go here for the schedule.
