Recently, we went to Baguio for a day-trip. We took the midnight bus ride (Victory Bus Lines) from Manila and arrived in Baguio around 5am. The deluxe bus we took was quite comfortable (it should be at P710) with its own comfort room inside. I felt like the bus driver was driving on a straight wide road when in fact we were going through the narrow, zigzag road going to the City of Pines. Baguio City was still bathed in fog when we arrived and we immediately asked around for Zola Resto Café which is usually open for 24 hours. We got there and found the usual early morning customers of bleary-eyed, half-asleep, half-drunk faces of the previous night’s partygoers/gimmickers. Come to think of it, we were also bleary-eyed courtesy of sleeping chicken-style while we tossed and turned on our seats as the bus driver whizzed through Baguio’s zigzag roads.
We ordered 2 of the usual Pinoy breakfasts: fried rice, with deep-fried bangus, tosino and fried egg and the other one, fried rice with hotdog, bacon and egg. The other order, which I find interesting and quite delicious is the fried rice and omelette with asparagus and mushroom inside. The omelette was cooked fluffy and the asparagus and mushroom were sweet and fresh, which what is Baguio is known for, fresh vegetables. We ended our meal with their brewed house coffee and we were off to our day-trip.
Here's another delicious breakfast to perk your day up.
