As the news of the first influenza A (H1N1) death in the Philippines spread out throughout the country, another swine flu related news came about here in Davao City. A four-year old boy from Butuan City was admitted in Davao Medical Center. The boy manifested symptoms of influenza A (H1N1) after arriving from his Hongkong travel to visit his parents.
For several weeks, as the number of people infected with the said virus in Luzon increased, people from Visayas and Mindanao hoped and prayed it will not never come. I really worry about this even if the Department of Health assured that this type of strain is not very virulent as what has been anticipated. Nonetheless, I am quite relieved that our office is sponsoring the administration of flu vaccine in the next few days for its employees.
