Weekend Snapshot#40 Asia’s Longest And Fastest Zipline
I went to do another zipline this Saturday along with my friends. We did Outland Adventure’s Excelerator zipline. The zipline is considered Asia’s longest and fastest zipline as it is is 720 meters long and 200 feet high with speed going up to 80-100 kph.
The place is just by the Diversion Road near another well-known city landmark, GAP Farm. Prior to being donned of harnesses, we were given a brief orientation by the staff. Afterwhich, we went to the lake to ride the platform to go up the hill where the zipline’s starting point is located.
Then, the trail going uphill starts. The hike is about 200 meters and it took us 8-10 minutes to reach the top of the hill. This is actually not for the fainthearted because gymrats as we are, the hike made us really breathless. Upon reaching the platform for the zipline, the crew rechecked our harnesses and set-up our flight.
Pictured below is the "Superman" position which I find more thrilling than the sitting position because you are facing the ground while you zip. The view from the top is just beautiful.
