Freddie Roach and Floyd Mayweather, Sr.

I was watching HBO’s 24/7 last night and got quite caught up with it. The TV documentary made especially for the Pacquiao-Hatton fight has shown a lot of interesting behind the scenes not only on the training of both boxers but also it has shown some informative and interesting facts about their trainors, Freddie Roach and Floyd Mayweather, Sr.

It was while watching HBO’s 24/7 that I learned that Freddie Roach has the debilitating Parkinson’s disease, likely acquired from his previous boxing career. In spite of sickness,  he was able to train and help Manny Pacquiao attain his current boxing stature. Freddie can be quite outspoken but Mayweather Sr. is definitely quite confident and his candor borders to cockiness and flamboyance.   However, he has shown some soft side when he was talking about his son, the famous boxer, Floyd Mayweather, Jr.  They have an estranged relationship and barely talked to each other and as Mayweather, Sr. talked about his son, you can see that he is missing him.

I would be interested to know what the two can say after the Pacquiao-Hatton fight when the winner will be known.
