Weekend Snapshot#18 Pacquiao-Dela Hoya Fight and People’s Park, Davao City

Weekend was spent doing groceries (am stacking up on Christmas ingredients as the lines at the grocery store can get horrendously long as Christmas gets near), doing a little Christmas gift shopping and gawking at the TV during the Pacquiao-dela Hoya fight (what happened to cutie Golden Boy dela Hoya?).

It is a weird thing that you can actually feel that the city perceptibly stopped or slowed down as the fight went on.  Should I dare say that the country actually stopped or slowed down too as TV stations showed a lot of people gawking at the their TVs or big screens (for the live telecast) as the fight went on?

Anyway, am posting more pictures I took at People’s Park (formerly called PTA), Davao City. It is just that I am still fascinated with the sculptures done by Kublai; they are scattered all over the place. All sculptures show the faces of the locals or even indigenous people of Mindanao. Some are even garbed in indigenous or natives customes and all are doing some kind of activities such as playing, carrying loads of bananas (Mindanao is known for being the fruit basket of the Philippines), fishing and more. Here’re some pictures I took:
