The other day, I overheard my officemates talking about compression garments. One of them is thinking of buying some for the Christmas parties that she will be going to attend these coming weeks.
Apparently, she learned about compression garments after she gave birth to her two sons. Her doctor required her to wear girdles after the childbirth to keep the loose skin caused by her pregnancy mold firmly back to her body and eventually, prevent the sagging of her skin. I remember one of our gym instructors years ago. She always wore compression garments after our workout session and even encouraged us to do it too. Based on her experience, wearing those garments helped improve her blood circulation especially after she had her surgical procedure for appendectomy. She said that it helped her reduce edema or swelling and helped hasten the healing process. Of course, the aesthetic advantage of wearing compression garments is that you look slimmer and more svelte.
Apparently, these type of garments are not only limited for post-surgical use as I have recently found out that they have compression active wear styles nowadays and mind you, they also have styles for men too.
Parties are common fare during Christmas season, consider wearing compression garments not only for aesthetic reasons but also for health reasons.
